And just like that, Christmas is just around the corner. Personally, I am especially in the Holiday Spirit this season. I find myself filled with excitement over the lights, cozy nights, warm dishes, and time with friends and family. This season is cold, crisp, and dark so it’s crucial to welcome in things that warm our homes and souls. For me this looks like letting myself sleep in, keeping my family’s immune systems strong and capable with nourishing meals, and finding little tasks here and there that make me feel cozy - like tonight, this will be making oatmeal raisin cookies and watching a movie under a pile of pillows, blankets, and puppy snuggles.
This month you can expect to come across warm and spicy dishes and baked goods. Curries, alternative grains, and lots of butter are trending in our kitchen this December.
There is quite a lot going on in the world. I know there always is but this season I know feels heavy for many of us. Hold your loved ones close, let stupid things go, do more things that you love, and embrace the little comforts.
stay warm,
