Thank God. Spring is here!
I am probably overreacting, as I do live in the Pacific Northwest and anytime there is a beam of sunshine burning through our kitchen window, my heart rejoices! This rare post-winter/pre-spring sighting is usually followed by several days of rain. (I checked the forecast to see if this indeed is what I have to look forward to, and it is, but that's okay.) We are in the in-between.
This last Winter was grey and sad for me personally, as I feel many others experience living here. I try to make the most of it with warm and cozy movies and meals but absolutely nothing compares to adequate sun exposure. With this sweet visit from the sun over this weekend, I can feel myself coming to life again like the cherry blossoms sprinkled through our neighborhood.
Spring. This short season is swift and sacred, so we must redeem our time well! There is a lot of preparation involved, cleaning, planting, and pruning ahead of us. Let's make sure to get outside when the sun is out and invest in our homes, gardens, and health. When winter comes again, we will look back and be able to thank ourselves for it - cherishing the memories to bring us through the dark days ahead, knowing Spring will come for us again.
