The perfect hard boiled egg.
august, 2023
There is a lot of strange information about this task on the internet, but I promise it's pretty straight forward.
you’ll need -
a pot with a lid, filled with water
eggs
white vinegar
strainer
Add your eggs to your pot, fill with water just above where the surface is about an inch above the eggs. Add a quick splash of white vinegar (around 2-3 tablespoons).
Set pot over medium heat. When the water comes to a rolling boil*, turn off the heat and place lid on the pot.
Set a timer for 14 minutes. Ones the time runs out, in the sink, run cold water directly into the pot until the temperature feels relatively cool. Drain water. (You can also put the eggs directly into an icebath instead).
Store eggs in their shells in an uncovered bowl in your refrigerator until ready to eat (though they are ready to eat right after cooling in the sink!)
Remember - don’t peel your eggs before you’re ready to eat them!
