SOURDOUGH DISCARD WAFFLES - (OR WAFFLES.)
These waffles are great for when you need to get rid of a bit of sourdough discard but don’t want it to go to waste OR they are just lovely as a classic waffle recipe.
makes 6-8 waffles.
- ingredients -
1 1/4 C. milk of choice, warmed
60 g. sourdough discard
2 C. AP flour of choice
1 tsp. salt
1 T. baking powder
2 T. white sugar
2 egg
1 - 2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 C. butter, melted
- method -
Preheat your waffle maker.
In a medium-large bowl, add sourdough starter and warm milk and stir until mixed well.
If you don’t have sourdough discard, just move to the next step.
Add remaining wet ingredients. Stir in dry until combined.
Cook waffles according to desired crispness.

Serve with apple sauce and finely chopped apples tossed in brown sugar and cinnamon.
